Reporting the Troubles

Throughout the seventies, eighties and nineties, the events of the Troubles were headline news throughout the world. Reporting the Troubles brings together over sixty stories from the journalists who were on the ground. A remarkable, important book that spans the thirty-year conflict, from the day in 1969 that the violence erupted on Duke Street in Derry, to the Good Friday Agreement and the Omagh bomb.

Join the book’s editors – award-winning journalists Deric Henderson (former Ireland Editor of the Press) and Ivan Little (UTV, ITN, Belfast Telegraph) – as they discuss their first-hand experiences in the field and answer your questions about life as a reporter during this momentous period in Northern Ireland’s history.

Deric and Ivan will be joined by special guest Eamonn Mallie (RTE, BBC, Downtown Radio) for this event.
